Our hope in this page is to help you better understand Murrells Inlet and specifically on this page, the heart of it!
Geographically speaking, the town of Murrells Inlet stretches out larger than visitors may realize. Murrells Inlet actually stretches up to several miles inland from the beautiful salt inlets located here in "the Inlet". Even the location of Garden City Beach itself is an unincorporated area of Murrells Inlet. So, the area has more to offer than many realize.
However, on this page we are going to cover a specific area of Murrells Inlet. And as local's have come to know it as "the Inlet".
Because Murrells Inlet does actually reach into other areas away from the salt water, locals have come to refer to the area we are covering today as "The Inlet" or "Murrells Inlet Proper" to help with communications.
This would commonly be considered the area from highway 17 bypass over to the the creeks of Murrells Inlet. Below, I have included a simple overview shot to help you better understand the geographical location a bit better.
