Surfside Beach, South Carolina (known as the family beach) is located just south of Myrtle Beach. Although on a map Surfside is only a few miles away from Myrtle, it would feel as though you are in an entirely different geographical location hours away from the busy lifestyle of main Myrtle. Surfside Beach, SC is commonly thought of as a little beach town with some key west flare. Many homes are painted with beachy pastels and vibrant colors. Surfside Beach also has a neat little downtown area featuring restaurants, shopping, farmers market, park, and library. It's such a cute little beach town! Unlike other South Strand beach towns like Garden City & Pawleys, Surfside is known for much more primary and second homeowners. The town of Surfside has more restrictions on vacation rentals. There is a much smaller area of the town that are annexed to allow vacation rentals then the other areas up and down the coast (Please Contact Drew to get a breakdown of those areas). So if you are someone looking for better-priced homes with a golf cart or walking distance to the beach, Surfside would be a great place to start. See, being in a zone that allows short terms rentals can drastically change the value of the property itself. Generally, the value of real estate would be higher in an area that allows short-term rentals. This allows property owners the option to rent their property for profit offset cost when they are not in town.
